Satellite Imagery |
|||
This satellite sequence covers the past 75 mins at 15 min intervals. Times are local UK time. The imagery is what is known as blended imagery or a day/night composite. Visible imagery is provided during daylight hours and this switches to infrared imagery at night. Software processes the data to seamlessly transition between the two.The visible imagery captures light reflected from the Earth's surface, providing detailed daytime views of the cloud and the infrared imagery detects heat emitted from clouds and the Earth's surface, allowing for nighttime observations and cloud temperature analysis. Cold cloud tops appear while lower warmer clouds and the Earth's surface appear in darker shades. |
