Met Office 0 - 5 Day Surface Pressure Charts |
|||
The charts show actual and forecast mean sea level pressure (solid lines) and weather fronts up to 5 days ahead. Charts beyond 24 hours ahead also show 1000-500hPa thicknesses (dotted lines) and indicate atmospheric depth in decametres (dam) between the 1000 and 500hPa pressure levels. Values below 528dam are associated with snow over the UK (cold, polar air) and values above 564dam over the UK often indicate a heatwave (warm, tropical air). Please check the date and time on charts and if the data seems out of date try reloading the page. The charts are updated automatically from the Met Office Datapoint service and on occasions the data retrieval process may fail and I apologise if this happens. |
